YMCA Shooting Suspect Taken Into Custody After Traffic Stop

Today at 1:22pm, Hazleton City Police Chief Jerry Speziale states in a press release that Officer Jessica Hutnik conducted a motor vehicle stop on the 300 block of South Church Street after observing a BMW being operated by a wanted fugitive identified as Felix Dini.

Based an investigation by Hazleton Detectives after a shooting outside of the Hazleton YWCA. Dini was charged as an adult with Aggravated Assault. As per police, the shooting incident occurred after a basketball game on March 5, 2018 in Hazleton. 
Numerous Hazleton units responded to the scene to backup the Officer Hutnik and three individuals were detained along with Dini being arrested and transported to Hazleton headquarters for processing on the warrant.

Three occupants of the vehicle were detained at the scene with Dini being held at gun point until backup units arrived.
Most of the units responded directly from the shootout/standoff situation along East Mine Street earlier today.
