Wyoming Street Block Party Has Great Turnout And Attractions

Today Hazleton News 1 had the opportunity to attend the Wyoming Street Block Party held by The Society of Hispanic Professionals of Hazleton Area and the Greater Hazleton Hispanic Business Association.

The block party began at 10am and continued until 7pm Saturday August 20th 2016, spanning multiple blocks along Wyoming Street with many businesses participating in the event.

Activities included facepainting and balloon animals for the children, as well as a karate demonstration, domino games, and a vatilla tournament.

Vatilla is referred to as a "poor man's baseball", played with caps and broom sticks and is popular with the Hispanic community. Prizes of $300, $200, and $100 will be given to the first, second, and third place teams.
