W. Hazleton Crime Watch Meeting To Focus On Human Trafficking

West Hazleton Neighborhood Crime Watch plans to focus on Human Trafficking at their next meeting, just days after a Hazle Township man was arrested for attempted child trafficking.

Ashley Burkett, of Southern Pennsylvania's International Justice Mission Mobilization, a branch of IJM which claims to have rescued over 45,000 from slavery and other types of violence, will be speaking at the meeting.

"Burkett spent nearly a year in Kolkata, India with International Justice Mission as a system reform intern" A Facebook event for the meeting states. "During her time abroad, Ashley assisted executive leadership in crafting, implementing, and managing a three year program aimed to improve the local government's capacity to combat sex trafficking. Upon her return to the United States, Ashley continues to speak about International and domestic human trafficking through a variety of platforms."

The meeting and presentation will be held Monday February 18th at 6PM at the West Hazleton Community Center, 100 S. 4th Street, West Hazleton.
