Early this morning around 2:30am a fire broke out in a row home along Little Street in Hanover Township.
The fire was quickly upgraded to a second alarm structure fire with multiple entrapments reported. Firefighters from neighboring departments in Plymouth, Kingston, Nanticoke, and Ashley responded to the blaze and had the fire extinguished in 20 minutes.
State Police Fire Marshal is still investigating, however the fire is believed to have started in a kitchen area.
The fire claimed the lives of two year old Riley Ferrera, her pregnant mother Julia Crossley, 27, and Crossley’s husband John Crossley, 27, according to the Luzerne County Coroner’s Office.
A fourth person, a young boy, was airlifted to an area hospital to be treated for serious injuries sustained in the blaze.
