Pennsylvania State Police have issued a Community Awareness Bulletin today about an old scam that is now making it's way into the modern age of the internet.
The "White Van Scam" was a scam where scammers would attempt to sell low quality knock off items by claiming that they were high quality items, often telling victims that the items were extras from an order or that they had too much inventory and needed to sell it quickly at a discounted rate.
State Police say that if You Have Been the Victim of a Scam:
• Contact your local law enforcement agency
• File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov or 1-877-FTC-HELP.
