Just before 3pm today, within an hour of media releases and social media postings, Leonardo Rosario is in custody at Hazleton Police Headquarters.
Rosario appeared at City Hall to turn himself in on felony charges in relation to the sales of heroin/fentanyl.
Rosario is a regular hangout on Alter Street and has become a problem, Police say.
“In my world, these problems equal, focus, strict enforcement with zero tolerance until we remove you from our streets and place you in jail “ Chief Speziale said.
Police have described Rosario as "a major principal in the Alter Street area" and have confirmed that Rosario was present during the Fourth of July and Halloween events.
Rosario was involved in throwing a bottle at Mayor Jeff Cusat just prior to the Fourth of July incident on Alter Street, was present at the Fourth of July incident when a Blockbuster was thrown under Chief Speziale’s police cruiser and rowdy crowd attempted to overcome them.
Police say Rosario will be processed accordingly.
“We at serious about our efforts and will not stop at any cost” Chief Jerry Speziale said on the subject.
