Search Continues For Hit And Run Suspect

On August 15th just after midnight Hazleton City Police Detectives Division began investigating a hit and run incident in the area of Church Street between 19th and 20th Streets.

A male was struck by a vehicle and sustained serious bodily injury. He was struck by a light colored vehicle believed to be a Pontiac Grand Am or Oldsmobile Alero between the model years of 1999 and 2003. Shown are images of what the vehicle MAY look like.

The male was transported to Lehigh Valley hospital with serious injuries, however the victim's name and condition have not been released by police yet.

The vehicle will be missing the passenger side mirror and will have an undetermined amount of front end damage and may have a damaged windshield.

Police believe there are witnesses to this event and encourage witnesses to come forward to help further the investigation.
Any person with knowledge of the identity of the driver or whereabouts of the vehicle is encouraged to call 911 and provide tips. Tips may be left anonymously.

Callers are encouraged to speak to lead investigator Detective Sergeant David Rodick or Detective Lieutenant William Gallagher.
