Red Flag Fire Weather Warning In Effect

​A red flag warning is in effect today until 11pm EDT, issued by the National Weather Service in Binghamton due to gusty wind and low humidity in Northeast Pennsylvania.

Via the National Weather Service:

* Affected Area...Northeast Pennsylvania.
* Timing...Late this morning through this evening.
* Winds...West 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
* Relative Humidity...Falling to 20 to 30 percent this afternoon.
​* Temperatures...In the 50s.
* Impacts...Critical fire weather conditions likely. Increased risk for rapid wildfire growth and spread.

​Instructions: A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
