Earlier today a Hazleton Police officer saw an ATV operating on Poplar Street and followed the vehicle to the rear of Terrace Plaza where other individuals with dirt bikes and ATVs were found.

The group found behind the Terrace Plaza was found to be from Connecticut and were removed from the property according to Hazleton Police Chief Jerry Speziale.

Charges are pending on the individual who was seen operating an ATV on Poplar Street and the ATV was siezed.

Residents have been complaining about illegal ATVs operating on city streets for quite some time. The initial social media announcement of ATVs being seized has sparked support.

"About time." Donna D. Commented on Facebook about the incident. "They dash right out in front of everyone, and than want to sue the driver if they get hit."

Linda A. Also shared similar concerns "Thank you great job I live up that way almost got in an accident many times because of them flying out in front of me".
