Hazleton State Police say they've been investigating multiple burglaries in the Milnesville section of Hazle Township (the area of Sheetz on 309) over the past several weeks.

Police have investigated seven burglaries where the burglars are forcing entry to the homes, specifically side and rear doors. Once inside, they are stealing miscellaneous items such as food and beverages.
Hazleton News 1 has been contacted about this rash of burglaries. Followers say that a group of homeless individuals in the area are responsible for the break ins. State Police can not confirm these rumors at this time.

PSP Hazleton is reminding the public to remain vigilant and be aware of this on-going criminal activity. If anything is suspicious or doesn’t look right, call 911 or PSP Hazleton directly to report it. They also suggest that residents always lock all doors to their homes and vehicles.

Troopers will be vigilantly patrolling the area along with surrounding areas and will continue to investigate these crimes to ensure a safe environment for the Citizens of this Commonwealth.
