According to Ron Smith, Emergency Management Coordinator, only six minor injuries were reported. Amazingly, no major injuries or fatalities occurred.
Emergency personel on the scene have speculated that if this had occurred on a weekend afternoon, there would be a massive body count.
Although buildings just a few hundred feet away are completely destroyed, a flower tent sits almost untouched nearby.
A massive debris field is almost all that is left in the path of the storm. At this point, officials are waiting on a confirmation whether or not what occurred was in fact a tornado, however the precise path of destruction and untouched surroundings speak for themselves.
Crews are currently on scene working to restore power in the area and contain a propane leak which is causing a dangerous situation here in Wilkes-Barre Township.
