PA Legislators toured the Susquehanna Nuclear Plant in Salem Township on Thursday ahead of a hearing on House Bill 11.

If passed, House Bill 11 would put nuclear energy into the same bracket as solar and wind since nuclear energy is almost entirely carbon free.

Representative Tarah Toohil is among those sponsoring the bill. "We talked with some of the 700 employees and learned what the facility means to our region’s economy." Toohil posted about the tour. "The proposal would preserve jobs in Pennsylvania’s nuclear energy industry and help to stabilize electricity prices." she added.

The legislation will be the focus of a public hearing Monday at the Capitol.
