HPD Cracking Down on ATV's And Dirtbikes

Beginning immediately, Hazleton City Police will be towing off road vehicles and citing their operators.

​In a release sent out Monday, the Hazleton Police Department has stated that in their effort to make safer roadways and deliver a better quality of life to the residents, efforts will be increased as part of the department's Aggressive Driving Campaign.

Over the coarse of the last Statewide Aggressive Driving Campaign, the Hazleton Police Department was recognized for it's efforts in leading the County in a number of aggressive driving categories.

Hazleton City Police will begin to crack down on odd road vehicles, which are being driven without safety equipment, unregistered, uninsured, and being operated unsafely on City roadways and outlining areas, usually illegally and without proper documentation or safety equipment.

The laws of the Commonwealth will be enforced, and anyone operating an off road vehicle on unauthorized land, public roadways, or without proper licensing and documentation will be cited and the vehicle towed.
