It started just before 2am. State Police initiated a pursuit on a grey Honda Accord which led it's way into Hazleton City.
The pursuit reached speeds in excess of 100 MPH as the fleeing vehicle led police along Route 924, the Arthur Gardner, Diamond Avenue, Wyoming Street, and many more.
Occupants of the vehicle tossed a large amount of narcotics from the vehicle as Police followed. At one point, a grocery bag full of heroin packets was thrown from the vehicle.
At least two parked vehicles along South Pine Street were damaged before the fleeing vehicle crashed into a guard rail behind Vine Manor near Grand Central.
One male was taken into custody after he attempted to flee on foot and one female was taken into custody at the vehicle.
EMS responded for the male suffering from a facial wound, and the female was transported via HPD to Lehigh Valley Hospital.
