Hazleton City Police Warn Of Possible Abductions

Hazleton City Police received information on August 1, 2019 at approximately 2PM from an adult female victim and are investigating a reported attempted abduction. The victim reported that the incident occurred at 1:30PM, on Wednesday, July 30, 2019 in the area of West Mine and North Locust Streets as she was walking past a grey color SUV. 

The female victim reported she was grabbed and forced inside the above vehicle, but was able to quickly escape.  

The male actor was described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a white crew neck t-shirt and blue jeans.

On August 1, 2019, in an unrelated incident, Hazleton Police responded to the area of N. Wyoming and West 3rd Street at approximately 4:25 PM on a 911 call from a witness stating that two males were observed forcing a Hispanic female into a Ford Escape that fled the area. 

Hazleton Police searched the area and were unable to locate any vehicles or victims.  In addition, a lookout was broadcast to area departments.

Hazleton Police Patrol and Detective Division saturated and searched the area and were unable to locate any vehicles fitting the description or anyone being reported missing.  The Hazleton Detective Division was present and notified and the investigation is ongoing.   

Any witnesses to this event are asked to call Hazleton Detective Division, Detective Sergeant David M. Rodick at 570-233- 0863 or 911.
