Today we are talking about going out to Evergreen Raceway Park at 183 Mill Mountain Road in Drums.
Evergreen has been a great way to spend a day for generations in the Hazleton area. While the name or ownership may have changed over the years, the track has been a staple since C.G. Williams built Evergreen Park in the 1930's. It was originally an amusement park, not unlike many others popular in the area at the time. Kiddie rides, picnic areas and musical shows such as "The Opry" comprised some of the activities that took place in those early years.

Evergreen Raceway not only provides a track for street stocks, modifieds, legends, enduros, and more, but the track also continues the tradition of big wheel races during intermission.
Children in specific age groups can get on the track in either their own big wheel or use one of the track's big wheels and race from turn 4 to the finish line with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place getting trophies.

Evergreen Raceway Park features a large pit area, both covered and uncovered grandstand seating, and a track run concession stand. Entry fees vary, but entry is generally $10 or under for adults with kids entering for free.

Once a month during the racing season the track us used for Sinister Drift Team's Drift Evergreen events where the track and a portion of the pits are used for drift racing with admission again being generally $10 to spectate.
If you have never been to Evergreen, of if you are looking to go someplace with the family, it is well worth checking out. More info can be found at www.evergreenracewaypark.com or Evergreen Raceway Park on Facebook.
