Fundraising For Wounded Veterans Coming Through Local Area

Redditor u/shortcakie snapped a few shots of Anthony Dates, shown above, in Wilkes-Barre as he worked to raise funds for veterans. Dates is participating in the Wounded Warrior Project. On his backpack, it states that he is carrying "for my brothers and sisters with scars that can't be seen". According to u/shortcakie, Dates is making his way to Washington DC, which may bring his journey through the Hazleton area.

Wounded Warrior Project features a fundraiser called Carry Forward which encourages participants to participate in a 5k or on a path of their own choosing while either carrying a flag, weights, or a teammate to symbolize the weight that veterans carry every day.
Funds raised through Wounded Warrior Project go towards veterans who transition back to life post-injury, including mental health, career counseling, and rehabilitative care.
