3/15/2020

Picture
The following is a release via Freeland Borough Council:

Effective Monday 3/16/2020 the Freeland Borough Building (526 Fern Street Freeland, PA 18224) will be closed to the public during business hours as a proactive measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19/Coronavirus. This decision was made based upon discussions with Freeland Borough's Emergency Management Coordinator, Fire Chief, Ambulance Association President, and Police Chief, and reflects guidance from Federal and State agencies.

All correspondence, including property tax, garbage, storm water, and fine payments, by check or money order ONLY (NO CASH), should be mailed to Freeland Borough P.O. Box 148 Freeland, PA 18224. During this period the Borough will be asking County Waste to suspend bulk sticker requirements, so please do not come to the office to request stickers.

In addition, the Borough Council Work Session scheduled for Thursday 3/19/2020 is canceled. The status of the Borough Council Regular Session, scheduled for Thursday 3/26/2020, will be determined at a later date.

The Borough tentatively plans to resume normal operations on Monday 3/30/2020 unless additional guidance is received from the Federal, State, or County level.

The Borough apologizes for any inconvenience, but the health and safety of residents and employees is of paramount importance at this time. If you have any questions or concerns, please call 570-636-0111 or 570-636-0141 Option #2 and leave a message.
