Food Stamp System Down Nationwide

People found themselves unable to use their food stamp debit cards today after a nationwide outage for the SNAP EBT system.

The system was first reported to be down early this morning with reports coming in from at least 15 states nationwide.

Customers have been unable to make purchases using their EBT cards, leading to discarded carts in numerous local stores. Most locations have posted signs making customers aware of the system being down.

After calling the national information line for the EBT system, no information is available at this time for when EBT services will be back online.
