Felon With Gun Jailed After Shots Fired In City

Hazleton City Police were dispatched to the area of Carson and East 7th Streets early this morning around 3:30am for a report of shots fired. Two shots were heard.

Officers saw two males in the area when they arrived on scene. One was identified as 32 year old Brandon Crum (pictured above), the other was a black male in his 30's with a bald head, navy blue tank top, and black gym shorts.

The males were commanded to show their hands by officer Brian Dubin. Crum was seen bending over in front of a vehicle, requiring the officer's attention. The second male fled East on 7th Street.
Crum was taken into custody. A Taurus .40cal firearm was found at the scene. The gun was reported stolen in Hazleton on 4/5/17.

An individual matching the description of the 9ne who fled was seen in the area of Perry Court and 6th Street, however upon seeing officers the male fled and was unable to be located.

A gold Acura found in the area was secured by police from the scene. Crum was determined to be a felon and was charged with the following:

F2 Felon Not To Posess A Firearm
F2 Recieving Stolen Property
F3 Firearms Not To Be Carrier Without A License
And Public Drunkeness.
