Itt is believed that an EF 1 or 2 tornado with 160 mile per hour winds is what touched down in Wilkes-Barre Township causing multiple building collapses and flipping over vehicles in its path.

The above pictures show some of the damage. (Photogralhers unknown)
As previously reported, just after 10pm a tornado made it's way though Wilkes-Barre Township causing a major emergency situation.

Panera Bread, Barnes and Noble, Dicks Sporting Goods, and Ashley Furniture have suffered collapses.

Light poles in the area have fallen, trapping people in their vehicles.

Multiple vehicles are reported to be overturned in the listed parking lots.
The Luzerne County Emergency Operations Center is currently in operation to provide assistance and supplies to the departments handling the situation currently.

Aside from the collapsed buildings, overturned cars, and people trapped in cars with electrical wires around them, crews are also handling multiple reports of trees down, wires down, flooding, and even mudslides after the severe storm has hit the area.

The Luzerene County Correctional Facility is also currently not accepting new prisoners due to their telephone services being down due to the storm.

There are still no official reports yet on the severity of the damages and injuries caused by the storm.
