On Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at approximately 2:30am, Hazleton City Patrol Units were dispatched to the 300 block of East Mine Street for the report of a male with a gunshot wound to the foot.

Upon further investigation it was learned that Felix Chapman shot the victim in the foot after the victim attempted to diffuse a fight between Chapman and another male. Chapman was taken into custody at his residence.

He was later arraigned by Magistrate Zola where he was remanded to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility after failing to post $50,000 straight bail. Chapman was charged with Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threats, Reckless Endangerment, and Simple Assault.

Statement by Chief Speziale:
"Our Detective's, are the finest and their tireless efforts, quickly and successfully pieced this investigation together."
