Early Morning Raid Finds Heroin, Meth, Cash - Three Arrested

Early this morning Hazleton City Police Narcotics Detectives concluded a several week long investigation into the distribution of narcotics.

Hazleton Police state during the investigation that detectives were able to purchase heroin off of two individuals, identified as 25 year old Daneury Cana-Mejia and 25 year old Hector Manuel Sanchez-Guzman, both of 127 West Diamond Avenue in Hazleton.

Hazleton Narcotics detectives along with members of the Luzerne County Drug Task Force from West Hazleton, Butler Township, and Sugarloaf Township executed a search warrant at the West Diamond Avenue address early this morning.

During the execution of the search warrant, a third individual identified as 22 year old Emmanuel Garcia Arias of 127 West Diamond Avenue Hazleton.

While police were in the home, the suspects attempted to flush illegal narcotics down the toilet in a second floor bathroom.the toilet was removed and the drugs were recovered by detectives.
 
Charges include:
Delivery of a controlled substance, Possession With Intent To Deliver, Criminal use of a communication facility, and Possession of drug paraphernalia.

The individuals are being processed and in custody at Hazleton Police Headquarters pending arraignment.

33 grams of crystal meth
Marijuana (unknown quantity because it’s wet)

Two vehicles were seized and towed and the local animal shelter was contacted to take custody of a dog inside the location for safekeeping. 

Hazleton code enforcement was called and responded because of the dog feces throughout the basement of the location.
