Dealer Behind Bars After Early Morning Raid

Dominique Mack, 30, New York is charged with (5) felony counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance (crack cocaine, heroin and fentanyl), (5) felony counts of Criminal Use of a Communication Facility.

The Hazleton Police Department Narcotics Division in conjunction with the Luzerne County Drug Task Force, the West Hazleton Police Department and Butler Township Police Department conducted an investigation into the sale of illegal narcotics, specifically crack cocaine, heroin and fentanyl in the Hazleton City. The investigation uncovered a narcotics trafficking operation headquartered at 599 Carson Street.

On October 3, 2019, in the pre dawn hours, the Hazleton Police Department's Special Operations Group, Patrol Division and Narcotics Division in collaboration with the Luzerne County Drug Task Force comprised of West Hazleton Police Department and  Butler Township Police Department executed a search warrant at 599 Carson Street in the rear of the location.

Upon entry officers from the Special Operations Group encountered Dominique Mack in an upstairs bathroom where he attempted to flush approximately 200 packets of heroin/fentanyl into a toilet.  Mack also attempted to conceal 4.3 grams of crack cocaine and a firearm in the vicinity of a sleeping juvenile.  A second juvenile and an adult female were also encountered in the residence during the raid.

Mack was taken into custody and arraigned by District Justice Joseph D. Zola, bail was set at 250,000.00 dollars.

Mack has previously been convicted of a felony, prohibiting him from possessing a firearm and will be facing further investigation into straw purchases of firearms based on a number of empty gun boxes being located in the residence during the predawn raid.

Additional charges will be forthcoming against Mack for Endangering the Welfare of Children, (3) counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute, Persons not to Possess a Firearm, Use, Manufacture, Control, Sell or Transfer Firearms and Tampering with evidence.

The search yielded;

14 grams (approx.) of suspected raw heroin/fentanyl (which would yield 900 packets approximately)

46 grams (approx.)of packaged suspected heroin/fentanyl (200 packets approximately)

4.3 (approx.) grams of crack cocaine

scales, packaging materials

.45 caliber Springfield XDs firearm

$2,500 in US Currency (approx.)

"This is a major arrest and seizure based on the collaboration between the agencies involved." 

"The Hazleton Police Department will continue to attack the drug trade vigorously and Drug dealers better stay out of Hazleton."
