In recent weeks, unknowing shoppers have been learning that their money is actually counterfeit.
Counterfeit money has generally been 100's, 50's and 20's, but now $5 bills are being found to be counterfeit.

Through daily purchases, the average consumer is finding themselves in possession of counterfeit money. When used to purchase something, the bills will be confiscated and will not be reimbursed.
Any counterfeit money that is found is turned over to the United States Secret Service.

Although inconvenient for some, the public is being advised to not use cash if they are concerned about counterfeit money.

Between skimming devices, fraud, and counterfeits, the world is becoming a tough place to make purchases in.
