According to multiple sources, a manager of the Amazon warehouse in Humboldt announced at 9pm this evening that an employee has been confirmed to have the coronavirus. Two others are awaiting test results.
According to sources, the associates last worked Thursday the 19th. HR will inform any associates who may have come in contact with the individual who has been confirmed to have the coronavirus.
Associates are able to stay home but will not be paid according to sources.
A social media post in the AVP1 Hazleton Facebook group confirmed the reports. "On Thursday evening at 9:00pm Senior Leadership along with HR announced a confirmed case of a worker at AVP1. The last date they worked was March 19th. Due to HIPAA regulations, they cannot release the names. We were told they worked in the building, could not specify which area/department" The post said.
"Senior Leadership has decided to keep the building open for normal operations. If this plan changes, a call all will be made."
Employee sources say that work areas have not been sanitized.
