Accident Sends One To Hospital

Just after 2pm yesterday, West Hazleton Fire and APTS responded to a motor vehicle accident along Route 93 in the Borough.

The accident occurred near Valmont Auto Sales.
A Kia Soul left the roadway, striking a utility pole. Power was reported to be interrupted for one business in the area.

The vehicle sustained severe front end damage and airbags were deployed. The driver sustained injuries in the crash requiring transport to Lehigh Valley Hospital Hazleton via APTS.

Route 93 remained open in the area with traffic being waived around the scene. 

PPL responded to repair the pole.
